The Ethernet Controller I210 (I210) is a single-port, compact, low-power component supporting GbE designs. The I210 provides a fully integrated GbE media access control (MAC), physical layer (PHY) port and an SGMII/SerDes port that can connect to an external PHY. I210 supports PCI Express* [PCIe v2.1 (2.5GT/s)]. The I210 implements 1000BASE-T using an integrated PHY. It can be used in server system configurations such as rack-mount or pedestal servers, in an add-on network card or LAN motherboard (LOM) design. Another possible system configuration is to use the blade server as an onboard board or mezz card. It can also be used in embedded applications such as switching add-in cards and network devices.
